Bicycle Helmet Laws
Ontario Pathways recommends that all bicyclists (regardless of age) use approved helmets while on the trail!
New York State requires approved helmets for all bicyclists (including passengers) under the age of 14.
In the City of Canandaigua helmets are required under the age of 16. (note - the section of Ontario Pathways trail between Ontario and East Streets is within the City of Canandaigua. The City has extended the trail west from the Ontario St. crossing, but that isn't Ontario Pathways property.)
This information is provided to raise public awareness of the protection provided by bicycle helmets. Users are responsible for adhering to all current helmet laws.
