Saturday Morning Trail Crew is Needed
WHEN: Saturday, September 4th, 2010 from 9 AM to 12PM.
LOCATION: Please meet at the County Road 46 trail head in Hopewell. Parking
is available at New Covenant Baptist Church adjacent to the trail on the south
side of CR 46.
GOALS: We need to widen the trail gate at County Road 46 to accommodate the
new wider trailer we will be using to carry pumpkins for the PumpkinWalk.
The replacement gate will be two feet wider, and this means we will have to
build up the side of the trail to allow pedestrian access around the gate.
We will have the use of a tow-behind auger to drill the necessary post holes
and the tractor to move gravel. If we have a good turnout we will be able
to fill a few wood chuck holes and humps and bumps on that trail section as
well.
You may bring your tools or use the ones provided by Ontario
Pathways.
Please bring water, work gloves, safety glasses and hearing protection if
you have them.
A snack will be provided (apples, bananas, and cookies).

Flint Bridge knocked out!
On June 30, 2010, the Ontario Pathways bridge over Routes 5&20
at Flint was hit by a truck and knocked off its abutments. The bridge was removed
and has been placed in storage.
Fencing and signs have been placed on the trail to alert trail
users of the gap that now exists in that section.
The Ontario Pathways Board is working to assess options for replacing the
bridge, so that we can restore the 23-mile continuous trail access that
trail users
have enjoyed since early 2007. At this time we do not know how long it will
take, but you can be sure that we will work diligently to get the bridge
replaced, and will periodically post updates on this site.
